Start out with a triangular shape for Fang's head like the one shown. Next, make a small oval for the body. Next, make stick figure style arms, legs, hands & feet. (Make sure you have a line down the center so as to make the placement of attributes easier to draw.) |

Draw 2 points facing each other on the head. These will become the
nose & hat. Draw 2 round shapes going out if the bottom ponit as eyes.
As you can see, Fang's muzzle is a bit pointy.:)
Go out from the eyes and make sure only a little bit of his head is seen between the muzzle and the hat. Note that the top spines are slightly larger than his bottom ones. A little bit more than halfway down his oval body, make a long rectangle which will become his belt. |

In the center of his hat, make the shape shown in the picture &
note how it has 2 lumps on top. Then make the leath strap at the bottom
of it.
Now we'll start with his ears. His ears are also a sign of his "pointyness." They come out from the bottom of the hat. The top of them stick up a little more. In this case, since we're drawing him from the front, the sides of his ears will be flat. Now in the top center of his muzzle, draw an upside down, rounded triangle for his nose. Place a shine on his nose & a wrinkle just above it. Underneath his belt, you will notice his white belly. It's close to his outer, purple part so dont be afraid it's going to be too big or too small. At the top, his belly has 2 points. Place a buckle in the center of his belt, then extend & round the left side(since he's facing us it'll be the right side)of his belt to make the strap. Just above the hands, make a medium sized triangle for the shape of the opening. He will be drawn with 4 fingers like shown.(Sonic characters have 5 fingers, but this will be explained later in the tutorial). In the center of his legs, draw cylinders that widen at the bottom. Make sure that a little bit of the back of his feet are still visible. In between his legs, make his tail. |

Now add his sly looking pupils in his eyes. Note that only half his
pupils can be seen since his hat is down over his face.
Now for his trademark smile. Draw a flap of skin sticking out from one side of the top of his muzzle. You can choose which side you want, but I find the right side a bit better. Draw a long round smile almost ending at the bottom of his nose. Now add his big 'ol tooth near the top of the smile, coming down and almost touching the bottom of his muzzle. Add metal plates to the center of his hands and a few wrinkles in his gloves. Make the shape of his boots match the one in the picture as shown. Erase all extra lines. |

Tada! You just drew Fan the Sniper/Nack the Weasel! Ink it, color it, do whatever you want with it. Just be proud because this is indeed a tricky character to draw. YAY! |

Here is an example of his tail from side view. It comes down until it lines up with the brown part of his boots. Then make a little wrinkle. You can choose which ever way you want it to bend when it goes up. When it does go up, make sure it stops at the middle of the bottom muzzle spine. |

Now, here's a strange BIG fact that makes Fang SO DIFFERENT from all the other Sonic characters. He REALLY DOES have 4 fingers. If you look at all of even SonicTeam's official art, you can see he only has 4. There is no 100% solid evidence as to why, but there is a very reasonable theory. In Japan, there used to be a criminal group called the Yakuza who were very known for illegal distribution of guns. In order to prove their loyalty, they would cut off one of their own fingers. Nasty, huh? This fits Fang almost perfectly, as he to is a master criminal and loves guns. So, since all official artwork for Fang has him with 4 fingers, I'll draw him that same way. The picture shown has examples of hand positons. Even if you've mastered 5 fingered hands, 4 fingers are strangely enough still somewhat tricky, so take your time. |

Well, that's all I have! Hope this helps you guys get a decent look at Fang's/Nack's design. When drawing this character, be patient. Fang is definitly a tricky character to draw, but sooner or later, you'll get the hang of it.^^ |
