First start off drawing a circle and right underneath that draw a cone shape with no edges. |

Draw two lines in the circle to determine of which direction the character is looking. (But for this picture I’ll have him looking to the left a bit). Draw stick arms and legs and put them in a position of your liking. Put round circles at the end of the arm to represent his hands, and same to the legs except a sort of squished circle instead. |

Begin to add rough details before going into serious detailing. Draw two spikes that look nearly like Metal Sonic’s. Roughly add in the eyes (any sort of expression type of eyes to depend on the characters mood). Roughly draw in a horn between his eyes, draw smaller circles between the hand and arm (same for feet and legs) and in the process draw lines on the hands to represent fingers and put them in any position you want, like pointing or peace sign. Draw a rough skin patch from the top to the bottom of the body, and finally at the back end of the body draw a rough tail with a big curl at the end. |

Now to put in the finer details of Espio. Make sure to include his
back spikes. He now wears a new set of gloves and sneakers for his newest
3D outing (look at the pictures below to show a larger version of his gloves
and sneakers). His chest patch is in a sort of stretched heart shape which
vanish underneath.

If you want to, after you have finished drawing, black ink over the
picture, wait for it to dry and rub out the remaining pencil.

Go on to paint or a Photoshop program to make him look much cooler and tough looking. |

Here are some minor pictures of Espio doing some poses or emotions which could be useful for you to use. A shock look whilst looking up, a total direct view of him, him being silly (since being a chameleon he has a very long tongue, remember that), a side view look of him, a close-up on his new gloves and sneakers, and a back view of him. |

Espio has the ability to turn invisible, here’s how to do some of it.
If doing this with colouring pens or on computer give him light grey lines
for the outline and make the colours whiter than the background as a way
of showing him being invisible. If you are using only black pens then draw
the character, leaving some white patches which is another way of making
him invisible. If using pencils then draw your character very lightly,
making him look invisible (sorry about the quality of it).

Sure hope this is useful to all of you. Be Seeing Ya!
